Our story began in a Dallas garage in 1971, when Nolan R. Barnett, an Air Force veteran, founded Barnett Signs, Inc. with a vision of providing superior sign solutions. A few months later, his son, Barry, joined the company, establishing a tradition of family involvement that continues to this day.
Through hard work, quality craftsmanship, and a focus on customer satisfaction, the company flourished. Early clients like Michael’s MJ Designs, Goodyear, 7-Eleven, Dualite, and Diamond Shamrock entrusted Barnett Signs with their signage needs, solidifying our reputation as a reliable partner.
The 80s and 90s marked a period of significant growth for Barnett Signs. Under Nolan and Barry’s leadership, the company expanded its facilities, invested in state-of-the-art equipment, and secured numerous multi-location projects, further cementing its position as a leader in the North Texas sign industry. Barry’s son, Brian Barnett joined the fast growing operation in 1995 and continues to lead the business today.
In 2002, Barnett Signs embarked on a new chapter, constructing a larger facility in Mesquite, Texas, to accommodate its growing team and capabilities. Tommy Bell, our Chief Operating Officer, joined the team shortly after and has been instrumental in our continued success.
Kelly Talbott, Barry’s daughter, joined the company in 2007, bringing her expertise in human resources and accounting, while her husband, Nick, later became an integral part of our fabrication facility expansion and business development team. This family commitment to the business ensures a deep understanding of our values and a dedication to upholding our legacy of quality.
Today, Barnett Signs thrives as a multi-generational family ran Texas Sign Company, with a team of dedicated professionals who share a passion for creating exceptional signage solutions.
